Hi, I’m Melissa! For more than a decade, I’ve helped families navigate the college admissions process with clarity, confidence, and far less stress. My favorite part of this work is guiding students one-on-one as they discover their strengths, explore options, and craft authentic applications that reflect who they truly are.
I believe that the college search isn’t just about getting into a “good school” — it’s about finding the right fit, both academically and personally. My approach helps students look beyond rankings and name recognition to uncover colleges where they’ll be happy, healthy, and successful. Along the way, they gain self-awareness, sharpen their decision-making skills, and learn to tell their story in a compelling way.
Over the years, my students have been admitted to more than 100 colleges across the country — but what matters most to me is that they end up in environments where they can thrive.

Education and Background:
Melissa was a high school and college teacher for 14 years. She holds a graduate certificate from UC San Diego in College Counseling and both a BA and MA from Ohio University in Spanish and Latin American Studies.
Melissa ‘s specialties: college guidance; ACT, SAT, PSAT, SSAT, and GRE verbal sections; executive functioning and study skills; English; and Spanish. She has over a decade of experience working with students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADD, ADHD, and other learning differences.
Fun fact:
If I were writing my college essay today, I might write about my love of linguistics and world languages, my identity as an adoptee, or the oddly satisfying joy I get from building IKEA furniture.
